Returns & refunds

Thirty days from delivery, no restocking fee, and a written answer within one business day of your first email. This page sets out the conditions, the process and the timing in full.

The window and the conditions

You have thirty days from the delivery date to start a return. Items must be unused, in their original packaging, and complete with any lids, holders, inserts or fastenings they arrived with. A board that has been washed and used is no longer returnable as a change of mind, though it is still covered if it turns out to be faulty.

For hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns on food storage items whose seals have been broken, or on kitchen linens that have been laundered. Gift cards and clearance items marked final sale are not returnable. Everything else in the catalog is.

How to start a return

Email studykitchen.amz@gmail.com with your order number, the item you want to return, and one line on why. You do not need to justify a change of mind - we ask because it is the only way we learn that a product page is describing something badly.

We reply with written return instructions and the address to send the item to. That address may differ from our registered address, so always use the one in the instructions. Please do not send anything back before you have those instructions, because we cannot match an unannounced parcel to an order.

Who pays return postage

We pay when the fault is ours. That covers a damaged item, the wrong item, a missing part, or a product that does not match the dimensions or materials published on its page. In those cases we email you a prepaid label, and for anything damaged in transit we usually do not ask for the item back at all.

You pay return postage when you have changed your mind, and the shipping cost you originally paid is not refunded. If your order shipped free because it was over $49 and the return takes it below $49, the shipping we absorbed is deducted from the refund. We never charge a restocking fee, and we tell you every deduction in writing before processing anything.

Refunds and exchanges

Refunds are issued to the original payment method within five business days of the item reaching our warehouse. Because payment is handled by an outside processor, the money then takes a further three to ten business days to appear depending on your bank or card issuer. We have no control over that second stage and no access to your card details at any point.

We do not run a formal exchange process. If you want a different item, return the first one and place a new order - it is faster than holding your refund while a swap is arranged, and it means the replacement ships from stock rather than waiting on the return to arrive.
